More Than a Bump in the Road

The people living in the New London area are invited to attend a presentation on depression. It will be held on Saturday, November 14, at 10 a.m. in the Community Room of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.

Depression is a common mental health issue that many people experience in their lifetimes. Depression can affect children as well as adults. Depression can lead to more serious problems. The holiday season is a time when depression can be more prevalent.

This presentation will be given by Elizabeth Seelow, a professional counselor with Christian Family Counseling. The different areas to be covered in her presentation are

o   What is depression?

o   What are symptoms of depression?

o   What are causes of depression?

o   How is depression diagnosed?

o   How is depression treated?

o   How can you help a family member or friend with depression?

There will be a question and answer time at the end of the presentation.
