If I announced that Jesus was coming to our worship service this weekend, what do you think our attendance would be like? Same as usual? A full house? Standing room only? Why do you think people would come out in droves to be at worship if they knew and believed Jesus would be physically present there? Fact is – he will literally be here in fact, he was here last Sunday – he is EVERY Sunday! So why is it so hard sometimes to fill up our pews? Why is it even hard for us sometimes to get excited and motivated to get up and head to worship our Lord and Savior with him, especially on cold snowy mornings of winter?
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:23-25
Sadly many of us at times as well as our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord have forgone meeting together. We have let busyness, fatigue, and distraction get in the way of coming together with our Lord. Jesus wants and expects us to come together to worship, praise, and thank him, to be with him. He will be here again this Sunday, will you to come and join us with him?
