David Laabs (Sharon) 1978 - Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel WI


He is the son of Willard and Marion Laabs. He attended Emanuel graduating in
1966, and is a 1970 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School. Following high
school he attended Northwestern College graduating in 1974 followed by
Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, graduating in 1978. He served his vicar year at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. His first assignment following
graduation from the seminary was Grace Lutheran Church, Sitka, Alaska where he
was the founding pastor. He served Grace from 1978 to 1986 when he accepted a
called to Faith Lutheran Church, Tacoma, Washington. In 1996 he accepted a call
to Evergreen Lutheran High School where he served as development director. In
1998 he was called to Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, Wisconsin.

Shane Krause (Nicole) 2009 - Mt Olive Lutheran Church, Overland Park, KS

He is the son of Dale and Marsha Krause. He attended Emanuel Lutheran School,
Fox Valley Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College and Wisconsin Lutheran
Seminary graduating in 2009. He served his vicar year at Grace Lutheran Church,
Scroggins, Texas serving as a assistant to the South Central District President.
Upon graduation from the seminary, he was assigned to a dual parish, St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Platteville and Faith Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Wisconsin. In
2014, he accepted a call to serve Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Overland Park,
Kansas. In addition to his responsibilities at Mt. Olive, he also serves and as the
chairman of the Nebraska District Mission Board.

Donald Main (Cheryl) 1985 - St Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church – Morris MN

He is the son of Donald Edward and Donna Mae (Pasch) Main. His father's parents were members of Messiah Lutheran in Shiocton; His mother’s parents, Karl & Avis Pasch were members of Emanuel. He was born in February of 1955 and lived in the Stephensville, Hortonville, New London, Shiocton area. He graduated from Shiocton High School in 1973 and worked as a John Deere mechanic for a few years. Pastor Main stated “Pastor Heidemann spoke to me after we moved our membership from St. Paul, Stephensville to Emanuel when I was 16. When I was 18 he invited me to receive training to be a youth group counselor; that got me moving toward training for the ministry.” He attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, graduating in May 1979. He attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, and graduated in May, 1985. He served his vicar year in Savannah and Mount Carroll, Illinois. He received his first assignment to to serve Trinity Lutheran, Elkton, and Immanuel Lutheran, Ward, South Dakota. He was ordained & installed August 25, 1985. He accepted a call to serve Our Savior Lutheran, Longmont, and St. John Lutheran, Platteville, Colorado (1990-1992). He accepted a call to serve Prince of Peace Lutheran, Iowa (1993-1998). He accepted a call to serve St. Peter Lutheran, Darwin, Minnesota (1999-2008). He has been serving St. Paul Lutheran, Morris, Minnesota since 2009.

Charles Learmann (Kristine) 1976 - St Johns Ev. Lutheran Church, Peshtigo WI

Pastor Learmann was born March 26, 1949 in New London, the son of Carl and Agnes Learmann. He attended Emanuel Lutheran School for K-8, graduating in
1963.  High school years were spent at New London Senior High School graduating in 1967.  College years were spent at Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin, graduating in May of1972.  Study continued at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary from 1972-1976. His vicar year was spent at Peace Ev. Lutheran in Hartford (1974-1975).  His first call was to serve as an assistant pastor at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Jefferson, WI (1976-1977).  In August of 1977, He received a call to serve Lord of Life Ev. Lutheran Church in Friendswood, Texas.   He served there for 21 years (1977-1998).  In August of 1998, he was called to serve at St. John Ev. Lutheran in rural Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and served for 19 years retiring

October 22, 2017.   In addition to serving in the pastoral ministry, He served as a circuit pastor for 20 years, and also served as the chairman of the district Special Ministries Committee in the South Central District for 12 years.   They make their retirement home in Watertown. Pastor Learmann was married to Kristine Schuetze and have been blessed with 7 children and 19 grandchildren.

Pastor Hennig was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on August 21, 1967. l Pastor
Hennig has served as follows: St. Paul Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN - (Vicar year - 1992-1993) - Doctor Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN - (Emergency Theology Instructor - 1993-1995) - King of Kings Lutheran Church, Garden Grove,
CA - (Graduate Assistant to the AZ/CA District President, Associate Pastor - 1996-2000) - Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, WI - (Associate Pastor - 2000-2013) - Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN - (Professor of History and Theology- 2013-present).

Dr. Paul Steinberg (Rebecca) 1997 Chaplains in Schools
I was born to Ken and Dawn Steinberg on February 27, 1971, and brought home
to an old rural farmhouse in Mukwa on County Trunk W.    I graduated in 1985 from Emanuel and from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1989. I graduated from Northwestern College in 1993, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1997.   I was assigned to the largest dual parish in the WELS at the time in Mauston and
New Lisbon, Wisconsin and served there till 2004.  I accepted a call to Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Medford, Wisconsin and served there from 2004 till 2008.  I accepted the call to St. Marcus Lutheran Church in the heart of the city of Milwaukee.  I served in various roles as pastor from outreach and adult
discipleship to teens and community outreach and finally as the pastor of school ministry. In my final year at St. Marcus I taught 120 catechism students and served 953 scholars in the school and their families. In 2014, I received my Doctor's Degree from Liberty University.  July 1, 2017, I accepted a call to the newest WELS parasynodical, Chaplains in Schools, which serves the scholars, families and staff of Christian schools that do not have a congregation actively reaching out to them.

Bruce Marggraf (Kathleen) 1982 – 1987 – 1982 Faith Lutheran Church – Sussex W

He was born September 9, 1956 in Los Angeles, California. He attended Northwestern Prep School graduating in 1974. He attended Northwestern College graduating in 1978 and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary graduating in 1982, He spent his vicar year in Saline, Michigan.  Pastor Marggraf was assigned to Emanuel upon graduation from the seminary. He served Emanuel from 1982 to 1987. In 1987, he accepted a call as a WELS Missionary to Brazil, living in Porto Alegre. In 2000, he accepted a call to Faith, Sussex, Wisconsin where he still serves. He married Kathy Schulz while a pastor at Emanuel and was blessed with four daughters.

Michael Hintz 1978 - WELS – Commission on Evangelism

He is the son of Orlo and Berdella Hintz and was born December 23, 1951 in New London, Wisconsin. Following grade school at Emanuel, he attended Northwestern Preparatory School graduating in 1970. He then attended Northwestern College followed by Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary where he graduated in 1978. His first assignment was to the mission field serving in Malawi, Africa from 1978 to 1985. From there he was called to serve as the pastor of Peace Lutheran Congregation in Granger, Indiana. He served Peace until 1998 when he accepted a call to Bethany Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 2002, he was called to serve as the Director of the WELS Commission on Evangelism. Paul Stern (Kathy) 1985 – St Paul's Lutheran Church – Livingston MT

He graduated from Emanuel in 1973,  He attended Northwestern Preparatory School, which is now Luther Preparatory School.  He graduated in 1977. I then attended Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin and graduated from

there in 1981. I then attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and graduated from there in 1985. I have served at the following congregations:

 Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, Wisconsin (the same church at which I vicared) from 1985 until the fall of 1990; St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sturgis, Michigan from the fall of 1990 until the spring of 2015; St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Livingston, Montana from the spring of 2015 until the present; Christ Our King Lutheran Church, Lewistown, Montana (as a vacancy pastor & now pastor) from June 2016 until the present.

Brett Krause (Michelle) 2010 - Zion Lutheran Church – Denver CO

He is the son of Dale and Marsha Krause and was born June 18, 1983. He attended Emanuel Lutheran School, Fox Valley Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, graduating in 2010. He served his vicar year at Fount of Life Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Upon graduation from the seminary, he was assigned to serve as an assistant to the Nebraska District President at Zion Lutheran Church, Denver, Colorado.
