Our Mission
Emanuel Lutheran exists to enjoy the good news of God as we are committed to three core actions: to gather around the Means of Grace, to grow to maturity in Christ, and to go into our community with the gospel. This mission is guided by the theme, "God with Us, Life with God".
We rely solely on the Bible as our guide for faith and life. We believe the Bible is the genuine word of God, divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, and every statement within it is true. The Bible points squarely to Jesus Christ as the sole Savior from sin. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we are guaranteed eternal life with him in heaven. Our weekly gatherings at Emanuel serve as a reminder of Jesus’ life-saving work, encouraging us with his promises.
Emanuel Lutheran exists to enjoy the good news of God as we GATHER around the Means of Grace, GROW to maturity in Christ, and GO into our community with the gospel.
Gather
Gathering around the Means of Grace is part of Christ's commission. He says, "make disciples by baptizing them." (Matthew 28:19) As Christians, we are committed to worshiping together often (Acts 2:42) and encouraging one another to do so (Hebrews 10:25).
Grow
Growing to Maturity is part of Christ's commission. He says, "teach them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19) As Christians, we are committed to teaching each generation (Acts 16:32) and developing our spiritual gifts (Romans 12:5).
Go
Going with the Gospel and Serving Others is part of Christ's Commission. He says, "Go and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19) As Christians, we are committed to sharing God's word in evangelism (1 Peter 3:15) and mission work (Acts 1:8). But "going" also means actively demonstrating Christ's love through service to others.
"God with Us, Life with God"
We live Christ's commission because Christ has promised to be with us. (Mt 28:19-20)
