What We Believe and Teach
The Bible is the genuine word of God, divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that the writers were guided to record precise thoughts and words. As a result, we consider every statement in the Bible to be true, and each part of it to explain another. Christians rely solely on the Bible as their guide for faith and life, and we encourage its careful study and reading. The Bible contains all the teachings required to achieve eternal salvation, and it points squarely to Jesus Christ as the sole Savior from sin. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we are guaranteed eternal life with him in heaven. Despite some beliefs that churchgoers are hypocritical and consider themselves superior to others, we believe the opposite to be true. Our weekly gatherings at Emanuel serve as a reminder of Jesus' life-saving work, and we liken it to visiting a doctor when we feel unwell. Through worship, we are reminded of what the Lord has done for us, and we seek to encourage each other with his promises.
